The monarch is thought to have a vast fortune.
The king of a North country is thought to be one of continent’s richest leaders, with three stunning palaces.
King Mohammed VI ascended to the Moroccan throne in 1999 following the death of his father Hassan II, inheriting vast wealth in the process.
Morocco has several royal residences, of which Dar El-Makhzen, the king’s Royal Palace in Fez, is perhaps the most famous.
Within it are several private structures, patios, and gardens, but its inner workings are shielded from public view by its imposing main entrances, one at the Old Mechouar (to the northeast) and another to the southwest at Place des Alaouites.
The latter is known for its brightly coloured and ornate details, including gold doors.

The palace is thought to date back to the 13th century, though most of the palace as it appears today was built in the 17th-20th centuries.
Though the country has an elected parliament, Mohammed VI retains broad executive powers, giving him direct control over defense, security, diplomacy, as well as Islamic affairs, “commander of believers”.
Only three monarchies remain in , , formerly known as Swaziland.
The monarch also has a sizeable property portfolio. Mohammed VI reportedly bought a bought a mansion in Paris’s swish 7th arrondissement, near the Eiffel Tower, in 2020. The price he’s said to have paid was never disclosed, but the property had been valued at €80 million (around £68.6 million), as per .
He also reportedly inherited the sprawling 18th-century Château de Betz, about 35 miles northeast of the capital.
