host Mike Brewer has hit back at criticism over his on-air split with Edd China.

Mike had posted on social media to advertise the second series of the successful Wheeler Dealers World Tour programme that debuted last year.

However, underneath the message to his fans, one viewer called out Mike for the famous 2017 split with Edd.

The onscreen duo walked away after presenting the restoration show together for 13 years with the series running from 2003 to 2017.

before handing the reins over to former F1 mechanic turned TV presenter Marc Priestley.

@BeepedB7ehv posted: “Stopped watching when ED was fired.” (sic)

However, Mike quickly posted back, defending himself as he pushed back at the accusation that Edd was pushed out of the show.

He responded:: “He wasn’t.. listen to what said.. he left to pursue a career elsewhere .. you missed loads of good stuff since so bad luck!”

Mike has previously claimed that and had “simply had enough”.

He has repeatedly stressed and has continued to deny any argument between the pair.

, Mike said: “There was no feud, there was no split up, there was no disagreement, there was nothing.

“There’s a thousand YouTube videos ‘The Truth behind Wheeler Dealers’. Nothing happened. A guy left his job, that’s it. A guy was working one day and the next day he went ‘do you know what I’m going to do my own thing’.

“What he did is he left and then he slagged it off and that’s what happened but I didn’t respond to that. Nobody else responded to it.”

When he walked away from the show, Edd posted an update on YouTube admitting he had left due to creative differences with show bosses.

According to Edd, directors wanted to cut back the amount of air time given to workshop repairs.

Edd claimed he was not c of the show which he felt would  “erode his integrity”

However, Edd seemed to suggest that he and Mike had suffered some kind of disagreement over the series.

“Is he my favourite person right now? Probably not. And I know for sure I’m not his. That’s okay. We are both adults. We will get over ourselves.

“We will get past this and then we will be fine… We’ve just had a slight disagreement over how the show should be made.”
