didn’t hold back on his assessment of during their fourth-round victory at home to Leicester City.

’s side were heavy favourites heading into the clash, with opponents Leicester having struggled in the Premier League this season.

But during an uninspiring first-half under the lights, it was the visitors who went into the break with a 1-0 lead.

It came after Wilfred Ndidi’s shot was parried straight into the path of Bobby De Cordova-Reid by Andre Onana, with the Leicester ace nodding into an empty net.

United reacted in the second half, with Joshua Zirkzee on hand to tap home an equaliser just after the hour mark.

The Red Devils won it in added time when Harry Maguire – who was in an offside position – headed home to send United through to the fifth round and save some face for Amorim and co.

Keane’s outburst came when the score was 1-0 to Leicester at half-time, with the former Old Trafford favourite dubbing United “boring”.

He told ITV Sport: “It’s shocking. Really, really poor. You start looking at this United team, at all the stats, no shot on target, I think two shots on target against Crystal Palace.

“They’re actually boring now. You feel like you should go into that dressing room and remind the players what the game is about.

“There’s a goal at that end [pointing] you’ve got to put the ball in the back of the net. It’s as if they’re not even aware of it.

“Leicester haven’t been that great, but they’ve been a bit sharper and they deserve to be in front. Now we’re looking for another reaction from this United team, nowhere near good enough. There’s no energy, there’s no energy in the stadium.”

Much to the frustrations of the fans, United weren’t too busy in the January transfer window, with Patrick Dorgu the only addition to Amorim’s squad.

The Danish fullback was given a run out from the start against Leicester, but only lasted 45 minutes, with Dorgu hooked at the break.

Reacting to the opening 45 minutes, Dorgu’s debuts and the performances of his team-mates, Ian Wright said on pundit duty: “That’s the thing, you saw in that first half, Leicester do look a little more dangerous even though United have had a lot of pressure. Bruno’s a lot deeper and once the ball gets into the last third, there’s nothing really happening for United from an attacking force.

“There’s no movement from Hojlund. Dorgu’s on this side and the ball’s come to him and with Dalot too, a couple of times he’s had to cut back in on his right foot. And you need to be quicker so people like Hojlund know to get in the box because it’s coming early but it’s not happening.”

The draw for the fifth round of the FA Cup takes place during The One Show on Monday evening.
