It’s been 20 years since Daniel Craig was cast as the next in Casino Royale.
The out-going 007 famously beat a 22-year-old to the role during screen tests.
Now, the future Superman star’s audition tape has been uncovered after being found in a recycling bin at a film studio.
That’s according to Ron South, who uploaded the 7-minute clip to YouTube alongside those of Rupert Friend, Anthony Starr, and Sam Worthington.
Sporting long black locks, the young Cavill casually works his way through some of Pierce Brosnan’s GoldenEye dialogue.

Campbell, who had pointed out to Cavill that he was a little chubby for 007 during the process, told us nevertheless: “He looked great in the audition. His acting was tremendous. And look, if Daniel didn’t exist Henry would have made an excellent Bond. He looked terrific, he was in great physical shape… very handsome, very chiselled. He just looked a little young at that time back then… He did very well in the audition, but ironically he was too young.”
