has been crowned of all time, according to a new poll.
The late monarch is , as more than eight in 10 (84%) said they have a favourable view of her.
Elizabeth’s reign lasted from 1952 to 2022, making her the longest-reigning British monarch after 70 years and 214 days on the throne.
Only 10% admitted to having an unfavourable view of her, bringing her net favourability score to 74, the highest among 43 monarchs in YouGov’s latest survey.
The market research company polled 10,505 adults in Great Britain between January 16-17, 2025.

The late Queen was also shown to be the most well-known monarch of all time as she had the lowest score of just 7% when it came to “Don’t know/Not heard of” answers.
With 63 years and 216 days on the throne, Queen Victoria emerged as the second most popular monarch in Britain.
More than six in 10 (62%) Britons said they have a positive view of her, while a little over one in 10 (12%) held a negative view, bringing her net score to 50.
Nearly three in 10 (26%) claimed they “didn’t know/not heard of” her.
Third on the list regarding net favourability – the number emerging after the negative answers are subtracted from the positive ones – was Elizabeth’s father, King George VI, whose reign lasted from 1936 to 1952.
The former king, who died aged 56, gathered a net score of 40 after nearly half the people polled (49%) said they had a favourable view of him, with only 9% saying they had a negative view, among the lowest in the list.

Over four in 10 Brits (43%) said they “didn’t know/not heard of” the former monarch.
The two remaining monarchs to complete the top 5 list of the most popular Kings and Queens of Britain included Queen Elizabeth I, 1558 – 1603, who came fourth with a net score of 36 and King George V, 1910 – 1936, who scored a net favourability of 30.
King Charles III ranked seventh overall despite having the third-highest number of fans.
Nearly six in 10 (58%) Brits said they have a positive view of the current monarch, while more than three in 10 (31%)—the highest negative number on the list—said they held a negative view, bringing his net score to 27.
Just 12% claimed they didn’t know or had never heard of the monarch.
The survey also highlighted how several monarchs are unknown to the British public. For 32 out of the 43 British kings and queens named in the survey, most Britons said that they either didn’t know enough about them to give a view or that they hadn’t heard of them in the first place.
