Travis Kelce was unimpressed with a question involving Taylor Swift before the Super Bowl
gave a blunt response to a reporter who attempted to troll the Kansas City Chiefs star with a question about his girlfriend just days before the Super Bowl.
The 35-year-old is aiming to win his fourth ring under Andy Reid’s tutelage as the Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans on Sunday.
As one of the star names on the roster alongside quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Kelce fronted questions from the media in the build-up to Super Bowl LIX.
But one reporter appeared to try to get under his skin by posing a daring question, asking if he preferred popstar Swift or receiving penalty yardage from the officials.
The reporter said: “Travis, Travis, Travis, Travis… what do you love more: Taylor Swift, or phantom 15-yard ‘roughing the passer’ penalties in the play-offs?”
Kelce looked thoroughly unimpressed with the remark and sarcastically quipped: “That’s a good question. Anybody else?”
Chiefs fans took to social media to vent their fury about the question, with one fan tweeting: “That reporter should be fired.”
Another NFL fan ridiculed the media member for posing the question to the tight end, writing: “What kind of question is this lol??”

The issue has proved to be a sensitive topic in the Chiefs camp following their controversial 32-29 victory over the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship game in January.
The game was dubbed one of the ‘most-rigged ever’ by fans, who collectively fumed at a series of dubious calls made by the officials at Arrowhead Stadium.
Kelce’s team-mate Mahomes had a similar reaction when he was quizzed on who his favourite official was, which again made reference to the Chiefs’ purported favouritism amongst referees.
And last week, Reid shut down sports broadcaster Pat McAfee after he joked that the coach had ‘met’ Ron Torbert – the referee appointed for this weekend’s showpiece event – prior to the game.

But 10-time Pro Bowler Kelce was also clearly having none of it, refusing to even dignify the question with a direct answer.
He has been thrown further into the spotlight since his relationship with Swift was made public in September 2023, when the 14-time Grammy winner was spotted watching him in action some 18 months ago.
Swift made the trip to Arrowhead Stadium and watched Kelce impress in a 51-10 demolition of the Chicago Bears. Despite her busy schedule, she has watched him a further 21 times.
The ‘Anti-Hero’ singer, 35, was also present in the VIP box as the Chiefs celebrated becoming AFC champions for the third season in a row and will be jetting in to New Orleans to watch her other half go for glory again.
