In a surprising twist, the have enlisted assistance to broker a peace deal with the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia (PIF).
After revealing an unexpected framework agreement back in June 2023, the golfing body is still struggling to formalise the terms nearly 20 months later.
To quell the ongoing battle with . In pursuit of closure, they’ve turned to Trump for aid.
Jay Monahan, the PGA Tour commissioner, has confirmed engaging with Trump this Thursday, alongside the legendary Adam Scott, initiating discussions aimed at achieving a resolution.
“We know golf fans are eagerly anticipating a resolution to negotiations with the Public Investment Fund and want to thank President Trump for his interest and long-time support of the game of golf,” stated a remarkable joint declaration from Monahan, Scott, and golf icon, .
“We asked the President to get involved for the good of the game, the good of the country, and for all the countries involved. We are grateful that his leadership has brought us closer to a final deal, paving the way for reunification of men’s professional golf.”
Trump, a well-known golf enthusiast and owner of numerous esteemed courses worldwide, claimed he could swiftly facilitate a deal between the PGA Tour and PIF. Before his election, the 78-year-old stated that he could expedite the agreement in just 15 minutes.

Speaking on the podcast, Trump said: “Well, I’m going to really work on other things, to be honest with you. I think we have much bigger problems than that,” He added, “It would be nice if they could all play together. It’s terrible when somebody’s shut out of a major.
“It’s terrible. But they’re very happy with Saudi. They’re over there and they’re very happy about it. They really are. It’s amazing… But I think it’ll come together. Yeah, I could certainly help, but I could probably get it done. I would say it would take me the better part of 15 minutes to get that deal done.”
The initial hold-up in the deal is believed to have been due to an investigation by the Department of Justice into the Tour’s interest in collaborating with their Saudi Arabian counterparts.
Trump has been a fervent supporter of the LIV circuit, hosting several events on the Saudi-backed schedule, including this year’s event in Miami.
