Netflix has launched a star studded new programme this week. , hosted by and Bear Grylls, sees 12 celebrities enter the South American jungle with the aim of getting to the other side before being caught by Mr Grylls.
With stars such as and Inbetweeners Joe Thomas taking part in the line up, it suggests that has big bucks to spend. The hosts of the show are also big names – who are both said to already be worth an absolute fortune.
According to Bear has accumulated a whopping estimated net worth of $25 million (£20.5 million). He has amassed his alleged fortune by working on several projects including a best-selling autobiography, Mud, Sweat, and Tears, and a number of hit TV shows including Man vs Wild – for which he earned approximately $30,000 (£24,600) per episode.
The star reportedly bought a whole island, Saint Tudwal’s Island West, back in 2001 for £95,000. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Bear enthused: “Our small, private island hideaway is 20 acres and five miles offshore with no mains, electricity, or running water.
“It has a little lighthouse beside our house and is surrounded by amazing sea cliffs, seals, and dolphins. It is my favourite place on the planet!”

Meanwhile, co-host Holly Willoughby is said to have “taken a pay cut” to appear on the show. Filming for the Celebrity Bear Hunt took place from hosting ’s , a role she was in for 14 years.
A source told Express.co.uk: “It’s way too early to see how well the show has done. There has been a huge number of people adding it to their ‘my list’, though, so that would suggest it will be a ratings hit overtime.”
They continued: “Holly’s role on the show isn’t really needed, and Bear could quite easily do the whole programme by himself.

“Holly knows nothing about survival in comparison to him so if do decide to bring her back for a second series, she can expect to have her fee reduced.”
In 2024, it was widely reported that Holly Willoughby was worth around £12 million. It was thought that much of his wealth came from her £700,000 a year salary on This Morning as well as the £50,000 she made from parenting book deals.
It was also reported that she was paid around £200,000 to front Dancing On Ice last year.
Celebrity Bear Hunt will be available to watch on from Wednesday, February 5.
