‘Bachelor In Paradise’ Star Wants ‘Golden’ Cast To Date Younger Contestants

Wells Adams, a former “Bachelorette” contestant who is now the resident bartender on the ABC reality series “Bachelor In Paradise,” has ideas about how to make the summertime show even better.

Adams, 40, told Us Weekly that he’d keep “BIP” fresh by having some of the older singles who’ve appeared on “The Golden Bachelor” and “Golden Bachelorette” date the more youthful “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” alums who usually appear on the show.

The reality star, who is married to “Modern Family” cast member Sarah Hyland, said he pitched his “amazing idea” to the show’s producers.

“Everyone [comes] and everyone can date everyone,” Adams told the magazine. “Hey, look, if you’re not into a cougar, that’s OK. Different strokes for different folks. But there is a world in which some young girl meets a really wealthy, distinguished gentleman — that happens all the time in the real world. And if it’s supposed to be a microcosm of the real world, that could happen there.”

Adams didn’t reveal how his pitch went over with producers, but pointed out that multigenerational dating shows aren’t new.

“There’s a show called‘MILF Manor,’” he noted before asking, “Why couldn’t there be a cougar that takes down a hot young Benson Boone-looking dude on the beach?”

Adams admitted that his idea might require a change in location from the Mexican resort where past seasons of “BIP” were filmed.

“If you are a bit older, you might melt [in Mexico],” he said. “Maybe Palm Springs or [the fictional Florida community] Del Boca Vista, a place where it’s already a retirement community and everyone can get around in golf carts. I think it’s got legs.”

“Bachelor In Paradise” will be back on the air later this summer after it was off the ABC schedule for a year.
