Seth Meyers Delivers Brutal Message To Drake After Kendrick Lamar’s Grammy Wins

After Kendrick Lamar won big at this year’s Grammys for his diss track “Not Like Us,” Seth Meyers took a jab at Drake amid the rappers’ viral beef.

During Monday night’s episode of “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” the comedian referenced Lamar and Drake’s quarrel while talking about another major public rift — President Donald Trump’s brewing trade wars with Canada, Mexico and China.

Meyers kicked off his “A Closer Look” segment by showing a clip of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s response to Trump’s now briefly paused tariffs on Canada and Mexico during a Feb. 1 press conference.

Trudeau implied that the Republican president was acting without Americans’ support for targeting a neighbor and longtime ally.

“I don’t think there’s a lot of Americans who wake up in the morning saying, ‘Ugh, damn Canada,’” Trudeau said.

“It’s true. No American wakes up saying, ‘Damn Canada. We should really go after Canada.’ I mean, except for Kendrick Lamar,” Meyers joked after the clip. “That dude has it out for Canadian rap.”

He then highlighted Lamar’s multiple newly minted Grammys for “Not Like Us.”

During the awards ceremony on Feb. 2, Lamar‘s song earned five wins: Song Of The Year, Record Of The Year, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best Music Video.

“What a deep and lasting burn on Drake,” Meyers said. “Imagine dissing someone, and then they diss you back and get five Grammys for it. I would never rhyme two sentences ever again.”
