Luke Shaw has suffered another injury setback.
has suffered another setback in his quest to return to fitness, ruling him out of ‘s fourth-round clash against on Friday, according to reports. The 29-year-old hasn’t started for United since leaving the pitch with an injury in last February’s win at Luton Town.
He returned to action at the end of 2024 with three substitute cameos under before a fresh problem left him “devastated.”
There was hope of an imminent comeback when Leicester visit Old Trafford later this week after recent images showed Shaw in training.
However, Mail Sport that the left-back has been dealt a minor setback in his recovery that will take him out of contention.
It’s claimed that the issue isn’t considered serious and that Shaw could return to the training pitch as early as next week.
Shaw battled through his calf and hamstring problems to represent England at Euro 2024 in the summer.
He came off the bench in the quarter-finals and semi-finals before starting for Gareth Southgate’s side against Spain in the final.
Another injury followed, though, which left him sidelined at the start of the season. Four months later, his return to action for United in December was derailed by a new problem.

“It is hurting a lot having to write this as I really thought I had got through my recent struggles and was on a positive path going forward, but unfortunately, I’ve had a small setback,” Shaw posted on .
“I’ve been through a lot and had a lot of ups and downs, but this has been my toughest period.
“I’m absolutely devastated, and it’s extremely tough to come to terms with reality at this time.
“I understand there’s going to be people frustrated, angry, disappointed, and I understand all that. There is no-one feeling that more than me at this moment in time.”
Amorim would have hoped Shaw could act as a natural replacement for Lisandro Martinez, who will miss the rest of the season with cruciate ligament injuries.
But, for now, the Portuguese tactician must turn to alternatives to slot in at left-centre-back as he battles to guide United out of their continued rut.
Shaw’s absence could pave the way for £29million January signing Patrick Dorgu to make his debut at left-wing-back against Leicester.
With the injury-prone England international’s woes refusing to go away and Tyrell Malacia joining PSV Eindhoven on loan, Dorgu could be in line for an important role immediately.
