tumultuous relationship with Annie Kilner is facing a new obstacle after the international packed his bags for Milan.
The former captain departed for in the winter transfer window, moving abroad for the first time in his career, but questions remain over the current state of his marriage.
Walker and Kilner’s scandal-laden past has often dominated the back and front pages of several newspapers, with claiming that he did not consult his estranged wife over such a big change in their lives.
A source claimed that Walker brutally informed Kilner about the move by saying: “I’m going, it’s up to you if you come with me.”
They continued: “That’s how strained things are at the moment. It’s as bad as it’s ever been. He didn’t even sit her down and discuss moving to Italy.
“They’re not in a great place and are barely talking. It’s still unclear if Annie will actually join him permanently in Italy. Everything is up in the air.”
Soon after Walker traded Manchester for Milan, he was pictured grinning from ear to ear upon signing for his new club.
The 34-year-old’s time at City ended abruptly after seven-and-a-half years at the Etihad, where he won 15 major trophies, having told in January that he wanted a new challenge amid the champions’ struggles.

He joined AC Milan on loan until the end of the season, with an option to buy the veteran at the end of the campaign. Walker dons the 32 jersey at his new club – the same number that wore at the San Siro.
He made his debut in the Milan derby in a 1-1 draw with Inter, playing the entire 90 minutes, after his wife reportedly for Walker’s unveiling.
As thousands of supporters cheered on their new signing, Kilner pulled out at the last minute. She did, however, fly over with their sons to take in his debut.
But following a year of headlines, including Kilner serving Walker with divorce papers in August, the England man is hoping to find a new normal in Italy.
It remains to be seen if Kilner and their family join him in Milan, having been reunited at the five-star hotel where Walker is staying, before being pictured having dinner together that same night.
But not consulting her before deciding to leave the country will come as a surprise to many, with plenty of eyeballs still on their relationship as Walker opts for a new challenge in mainland Europe.
