The news anchor started at Sky in 1989, and went on to win a for her work presenting the news on the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Now Kay is set to “indulge in some of [her] other passions” after hanging up her reporting shoes. And it means she’ll be saying goodbye to a massive salary.
In 2011 it was reported that Kay earned £500,000 a year from her Sky job – and it’s fair to assume that with inflation that wage has only increased year on year. Unlike the , isn’t bound to release its employee salaries.
She has described her own salary as “good”, telling The Guardian in 2019: “I’ve always been something of a Wigan street-fighter. Always tried to prove myself, always had sharp elbows. That’s served me well as I’ve come up through the ranks.

“Am I combative? Only when I need to be. I get paid a good salary to ask the hard questions that people at home would want answered.”
She added to the Mail on Sunday: “Some people might say television presenters get paid silly money for what they do, but I disagree. It is a challenging job. I am not one for corporate after-dinner speeches.
“I would rather spend downtime with my family than be making more money. I earn more than enough as it is.”

Kay has an estimated net worth of £2.4million to £4million according to Mabumbe.
She’s also done well in property, confessing that her homes value had “quadrupled”. She refurbished her five bedroom home, purchased in 1999, and managed to raise the price to four times its original value.
Kay also owns a three-bedroom holiday home in the Cotswolds, and confessed that the most expensive item she’s ever splurged on is a white gold Cartier watch, a limited edition Ballon Bleu. Prices start at £4,850 and soar all the way up to £22,500 – but Kay wouldn’t confirm how much she paid.
