star was branded a “bit embarrassing” by fans during a live segment with ’s .
A row erupted over US President ongoing tariff war with Canada, China and Mexico, with Kay bringing them up as a “done deal”. She explained on the show: “He says he’s having a chat with them on the phone this morning with Canada, Mexico, China, but as far as he’s concerned it’s a done deal.”
But Richard quickly lost his cool with Kay, adding: “Let’s see where it ends up. It may well be a done deal.”
Kay asked: “But if it’s a done deal what’s it going to do to the global economy?” which is when Richard fumed: “Actually, tell you what, you’re clearly not interested in what’s happening in the UK. I am. I’m negotiating on behalf of British citizens what’s right for us.”
Burley replied: “Why do you say that? Why am I not interested? I’ve lived in this country a lot longer than you.”

Richard Tice was left fuming at Kay Burley
But Richard wasn’t having any of it as he responded: “Really? Have you? Let’s focus on what’s going on in Britain, not what’s going on in Mexico and Canada. That’s what’s of real interest to us and we’ve got to get this economy going by cutting out daft regulation, stop sending our money overseas, scrap Net Zero-
“Tariffs are a negotiation. What I’m saying is we’ve got to focus on the UK. You seem to be focusing on Mexico and Canada, I’m focusing on the UK.”
Kay insisted: “I was then going to go on to Europe.” But Richard said: “Let’s focus on Britain shall we? What works, what makes British citizens better off. You’re not interested in that.”
Kay was left laughing, flummoxed, as she said: “You talk rubbish sometimes.” But viewers at home branded the row “embarrassing”.
Tice rowed with Burley in a tense segment
One tweeted: “Bit embarrassing @KayBurley. You kept saying the tariffs were a done deal while @TiceRichard correctly said they were simply a bargaining chip. The tariffs have been put on hold because Mexico + Canada stepped up. This is why people who know about business need to be running a country, strong leaders not weak ones.”
Someone else said: “She’s just a vicious fool always trying to make a name for herself. I think she thinks she’s in her own TV drama about a news presenter world renowned for her tough questioning! The hero for the people!”
Others, however, came out in support of Kay, with one social media user writing: “ getting told by Kay Burley that he’s all over the place & talks rubbish was pretty refreshing! He went on a rant about Trump’s tariffs telling Kay she’s not interested in the uk to which she replied ‘I’ve lived here a lot longer than you.’”
“It’s like a schoolboy being told off by his teacher,” someone else posted.
