Iran is developing nuclear weapons with a range that can hit Europe using a North Korean design handed to Tehran.

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), which in the past has revealed details of the mullahs’ uranium enrichment facilities, has shared information on how the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is growing its arsenal.

that two bases, disguised as communication satellite launch sites, are being used to develop nuclear weapons that can reach as far as Greece, the NCRI exiles claim.

The first site is found in Shahrud in the north-east of the country, and is where scientists are working on building a nuclear warhead that can be carried on a Ghaem-100 – a rocket with a near 1900-mile range.

The NCRI says there have been at least three successful launches of the rocket, which “enhances the regime’s capability to deploy nuclear weapons”.

The second site, in Semnan province, south-east of Tehran, is where Iran is attempting to develop Simorgh missiles, the NCRI claims.

The designs share similarities to the North Korean UNHA-1, which is an 18-metre tall rocket. Pyongyang said it is a rocket for carrying equipment into space.

“The Iranian mullahs are masters of lies, deception and evasion. For over two decades, they have used negotiations and the West’s leniency as a means to advance their nuclear weapons programme, threatening global peace and stability,” Soona Samsami, a US representative of NCRI said.

“Tehran has never been as weak and vulnerable as it is today. The desperate Iranian regime is thus speeding up the development of nuclear weapons.

“Now is the time to hold the regime accountable for internal killings, regional warmongering, and nuclear weapons development,” she told The Telegraph.
