Coronation Street star quits ITV soap in shock announcement after mass cast walkout

have said farewell to another cast member as one of the show’s most notorious villains has confirmed his exit from the show.

Harry Lowbridge, who played evil Logan Radcliffe on the long running soap opera, has confirmed his final scenes aired on Monday (February 3).

His dramatic final moments saw his character attack David Platt (Jack P Shepherd), who had recorded him confessing to starting the recent fire which destroyed the Platt house, before he was arrested.

The actor took to to announce his departure although he teased it may not be the last we see of him. “That’s farewell to Logan… for now,” he penned alongside productions stills from the soap showing him in character.

He first appeared on the cobbles last year as the brother of teen bully Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan). It transpires Mason’s issues were due to abuse at the hands of his brothers. Luca also recently departed the show when his character was killed off in a storyline highlighting the issue of knife crime.

His followers admitted they were sad to see him go while praising his performance in the comments.

“All the best, you were great, hope you come back,” one wrote. “@harry.lowbridge you have played a blinder with your bad boy character Harry,” another added with an applause emoji.

“You’re brilliant!! Such a good baddie,” a third opined. “Great work, he will be back,” a fourth wrote accompanying their statement with an applause emoji and a cheering hands emoji.

A fifht simply said: “You were brilliant!” Meanwhile a sixth praised: “You’re a great actor!!”

Harry is just the latest star to depart the soap which is currently going through a cast exodus.

Upcoming departures include Sue Devaney, who has been axed from her role as Debbie Webster in a storyline that will see her character diagnosed with dementia. Colson Smith, who plays Craig Tinker, was told last autumn his character is set to be cut this year.

Charlotte Jordan, who plays Daisy Midgeley, recently announced her departure as did Shelley King, who plays Yasmeen Metcalfe, and Sue Cleaver, who plays Eileen Grimshaw. Paddy Bever who has won awards for his portrayal of David Platt’s troubled stepson Max Turner has revelaed he recently filmed his final scenes.

The show is also temporarily losing two beloved characters as Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) will go on maternity leave while Maureen Lipman (Evelyn Plummer) is taking a year off.
