fans can have perfectly fluffy potatoes with crispy skins in just 15 minutes, all without the need of an oven.

Whether you prefer your baked potato as a simple side or a full meal with hearty toppings, this fast cooking tip will change the way you make them.

Food expert Roice Bethel has shared this genius method on his @noflakeysalt, demonstrating in just 10 minutes.

Roice said: ” a potato in the oven takes over an hour; doing it in the microwave takes 10 minutes. Try this method instead.”

The process couldn’t be simpler: start with a decent-sized potato, then poke a series of holes in it.

:

These holes allow the moisture to escape, helping the potato absorb more butter and enhancing the texture.

Place the potato on a plate and microwave it for five minutes on one side. After five minutes, flip the potato over and microwave for another five minutes.

When showing the potato to the camera, Roice remarked, “these wrinkles on the potato are a good sign”, signalling that it’s cooked to perfection.

After cutting the potato in half, the inside was fluffy and fully cooked, proving just how effective this method is.

Naturally, the post sparked a flood of comments from fellow users, eager to share their thoughts. @shirley2502 simply wrote: “That is the best way.”

Meanwhile, @therealphxfoodie shared a similar experience, saying: “I spent an hour baking a potato for dinner one night and it still wasn’t baked through and I swore to only microwave them from now on.”

Of course, some users were concerned about the potato’s skin being too soft or soggy when using this quick microwave method.

Luckily, many had suggestions to fix this, with @jeffreythomas recommending: “I do five minutes in the microwave and finish in the air-fryer to get crispy skin.”

@suedonim echoed this tip: “Need crispy skin though. Five minutes in the microwave and 10 in the air-fryer.”

Another user, @mrs_198o, suggested: “Microwave six minutes, spray oil, and salt, then air-fryer for 10 minutes. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside.”
