If your ideal date night is filled with cheesy appetizers and mocktails, then you’re in luck.
On Feb. 4, Applebee’s announced it is bringing back its Date Night Pass, the coveted card that nearly broke the internet when it was introduced last year. This year, the chain is offering 3,000 passes that can be grabbed exclusively by Club Applebee’s members.
What is Applebee’s Date Night Pass?
This year, a Date Night Pass, which costs $100, will get cardholders up to $50 of food and nonalcoholic beverages once a month for the next year.
From March 1, 2025 until Feb. 28, 2026, folks can use the deal in-restaurant or to-go 12 times — meaning that by the end, Date Night Pass-holders net $500 in savings.
How to get Applebee’s Date Night Pass
For a chance to purchase a Date Night Pass, sign up for Club Applebee’s, if you aren’t already a member. Your welcome email will include an option to register for a chance to purchase one Date Night Pass.
Current Club Applebee’s members will also get an email to register in the drawing by Feb. 12 for the chance to purchase their own card.
Keep in mind that signing up for or being a member of Club Applebee’s does not register you for a chance to purchase a Date Night Pass — you have to register via the link in your email.
Applebee’s Date Night Passes cause online chaos
Applebee’s Date Night Pass was first announced Jan. 22, 2024 and led to a bit of controversy for the chain.
The previous version gave cardholders 52 “date nights” from Feb. 1, 2024 until Jan. 31, 2025 for $200. The card allowed customers to order up to $30 worth of food and nonalcoholic beverages during each use, either for dine-in or to-go — $1,300 in total.
As expected, this led to a ton of folks clamoring for a Date Night Pass — which sold out in seconds — and complaints that there were server errors or other technical issues. One user posted, “Applebees finessed everybody and used the Date Night Pass for free social media publicity.”
At the time, Applebee’s told TODAY.com there were nearly 100,000 people online trying to secure Date Night Passes and they sold out in less than one minute to guests in 41 states, though it did not share how many it had released in total.
“We apologize to our guests who were disappointed that the limited number of passes sold out so quickly. We’re always looking for ways to make date night special for our guests and look forward to sharing future offers,” said the chain.
