An American couple who tried a Wetherspoons for the first time said that whilst they enjoyed the experience, they were overwhelmed by one thing.

The couple, YouTube vloggers Jeremy and Cara (@TheMagicGeekdom), visited an undisclosed branch of the popular pub chain – one which just so happened to also feature a hotel – as part of their latest video about their travels around the UK.

Settling down into the pub, the pair blogged dish by dish their experience at the branch of Wetherspoons. From the off, Cara noted that she was “overwhelmed” by the sheer amount of choice on offer at the pub.

Her surprise extended from the choices of drink to the choices of food on offer with a variety of dishes one could order ranging from curry all the way to burgers and pizzas.

Cara exclaimed: “I think the thing I was not expecting is just how overwhelming the menus are, like, there are so many drink options just on the drink menu.

“The food menu is full of food options. I feel like it has the tiniest, tiniest font because they have 300 options. I had no idea that you could get curry and things like that at a Spoons.

“I wasn’t expecting to have such a huge selection to choose from on the menu so we asked our followers what their recommendations were.”

Food ordered, they reviewed each dish as it came, remarking about the quality of the meats and cheeses in each, as well as once again highlighting their love of British culture, a love that has been cultivated over their near year of travelling around the UK.

Cara’s favourite dish of those she and Jeremy tried ended up being the curry. She said: “I don’t want to say we have bad Indian food in the US, but I just don’t think it’s as a good as the UK and this is really good. It’s just really flavourful, it’s got just a little bit of heat to it, it’s not that spicy, but it is so nice.”

DON’T MISS [REPORT]

In response, Jeremy concurred, albeit with slightly less enthusiasm. He remarked: “That’s a perfectly acceptable, solid, pretty decent curry…and we’ve had better than this obviously, but for being very plentiful and inexpensive, it’s pretty good.”

Overall Cara described the Wetherspoons eating experience as “pretty good” and rated everything as “at least a seven or an eight”.

Obviously, Cara and Jeremy aren’t the first Americans to blog about their first Wetherspoons experience. Last year, influencer Amber Karcherian and her friend Jared Gregersen also tried a Wetherspoons, but with slightly less success.

The pair were mocked online for calling Wetherspoons a restaurant rather than a pub and had to ask whether gravy went into or on a pie, reported the .

Following their exit from the undisclosed chain of Wetherspoons, Amber concluded positively: “In America, we are always in such a hurry. We’re always in such a rush, like, we gotta go, go, go, we gotta get things done, we gotta eat our food, we gotta order our food.

“We gotta get out because we have somewhere else to go. But here it just feels so nice and laid back that people can just come and relax and have a good time and just enjoy this beautiful country of yours.”
