ITV’s beloved crime drama Unforgotten is set for a gripping return with Sinèad Keenan and Sanjeev Bhaskar both at the helm for a hotly-anticipated series six, premiering this Sunday (February 9).
The dynamic duo will once again bring to life DCI Jessica James and DI Sunny Khan as they tackle fresh mysteries. The new season promises an infusion of new talent, featuring actors such as MyAnna Buring, Elham Elas, Victoria Hamilton, Max Fairley, Jan Francis, and Damien Molony joining the squad.
Anticipation mounts as Andrew Lancel confirms he’s continuing his role as Jess’s husband, Steve, while Kate Robbins returns as the formidable Jessie’s mother, Kate.
In a heartfelt nod to her fellow actors, Sinèad has lauded one of the show’s guest stars, expressing regret over not sharing more screen time with MyAnna Buring.
She praised the ensemble cast: “Oh, they were all brilliant. All brilliant. I didn’t have an awful lot to do with MyAnna Buring they just sent Sunny over to Ireland because Jess has to deal with stuff at home so that was unfortunate, but Victoria Hamilton was extraordinary.”

Sanjeev Bhaska will reprise his role
Hailing her co-star’s talent and contributions, she added, “It was so lovely working with her and Max Fairley, who’s a relatively new actor, who was brilliant, plays Marty, and Elham Ehsas playing Asif all just really brilliant actors and working with really good material. All well-written and well-rounded characters from Chris,” reports .
Sinèad, who is one of the main stars of the hit series, found it difficult to single out a favourite scene from the latest season. Instead, she chose to highlight the exceptional performance of one of her co-stars.
She shared: “I have to say, everyone was brilliant this year. In those interview scenes, you are up close and personal, watching some brilliant actors do their thing.”
Victoria Hamilton was hailed by Sinèad
“But watching and acting with Victoria Hamilton was quite something. She is so brilliant and so lovely with it. That was a real pleasure. I was very lucky.”
In upcoming episodes, a shocking discovery of suspected human remains at Whitney Marsh prompts Jess and Sunny to divert their plans and rush to the crime scene.
The episode’s synopsis further reveals: “Dr Balcombe’s analysis reveals that the remains are relatively recent and suggest a grim conclusion: the body was placed there already dismembered. With this insight, Jess and Sunny intensify their search, certain that other body parts may not be far away.”
Unforgotten season 6 will premiere on ITV1 and ITVX on Sunday, 9th February at 9pm.
