Snow will hit the UK on Valentine’s Day

Latest maps from WXCHARTS, aided by Metdesk data, show a blast of snow will make its way to the UK in the early hours of February 14.
At 6am, maps show snow will hit mostly the south of England and parts of Scotland.
In England, the is forecast for large parts of Wales, except from the south of Wales.
It is also due to hit London, Birmingham, the south east coast, Oxford, Gloucester and Brighton.
The maps show a small blob of hitting the Yorkshire Dales in the north of England.

The wintry conditions will stretch from the west coast of neighbouring Ireland to Dover in England, over 400 miles.
In Scotland, the most impacted area will be around Aberdeen and Dundee.
Many areas will see up to 10cm of per hour with some areas set to see up to 3cm snow depth.

It said: “Over the first weekend though, most places will be dry, if rather cloudy, with a few wintry showers possible near some southern and eastern coasts, but some sunshine elsewhere.
“Winds across many areas are likely to come from an easterly quadrant, with cold conditions likely, and there’s even the possibility of some snow at times.”
As for temperatures, these are likely to be just below average which could mean it feels colder than usual.
