UK billpayers can cut £131 off this staple household utility

As we near the end of the financial year, many providers are preparing to increase their prices, with billpayers’ wallets set to be squeezed even tighter. With this, many of us may be weighing up our options and shopping around in a bid to bring monthly bills down.

Luckily, there’s plenty of options on the market that can help us save a hefty sum throughout the year. These days, a broadband connection is one household staple most of us cannot live without, with countless providers fighting for our custom.

One such provider is , which is back with a new round of broadband deals. The BT-owned brand has just slashed the price of its full fibre broadband plans, with customers able to save upwards of £130.

EE’s prices now start at £29.99 for its 50Mbps plan, but customers can now upgrade to 150Mbps for the same price, with no upfront cost to get things up and running. include:

  • (50Mbps): £29.99 per month – save £24
  • (150Mbps): £29.99 per month – save £48
  • (500Mbps): £34.99 per month – save £131

EE also offers mega on its Busiest Home Bundle and Made for Gamers plans from £69.99, with the gaming option coming with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at no extra cost. There’s also massive discounts across for those looking to consolidate their entertainment subscriptions.

The biggest saving is with the EE Big Sport plan, that’s reduced by £240 to its new £38 per month rate and includes all 12 Sky Sports channels, plus TNT Sports, Discovery+ and Eurosport. However, keep in mind that EE and many other providers are set to increase their prices, with broadband rising £3 and TV rising £2 on 31 March each year.

EE’s deals come as is hours away from the end of its winter sale, which will see deals expire at 11.59pm on February 5. This means time is running out to get Virgin’s M500 Fibre Broadband (516Mbps) at a reduced £33 per month – which also comes with a £50 bill credit.

Virgin also offers M350 Fibre Broadband (362Mbps) for £27 and Gig1 Fibre Broadband (1,130Mbps) for £39, with the latter coming with a £75 bill credit. Elsewhere, Sky’s own January sale may have been and gone, but its broadband prices remain attractive as the provider has confirmed it will lock its prices for 24 months, avoiding any surprise price rises.
