Esteban Ocon will star in a new Netflix comedy
swapped the Formula One paddock for the movie studio during the off-season. The racer will appear in the upcoming French release Honeymoon Crasher.
The film is a French-language comedy production titled Lune de miel avec ma mère (Honeymoon Crasher is the British release title) and stars Julien Frison and Michele Laroque. The trailer, released before the film’s launch date on February 12, contained a surprise cameo.
released a trailer for the project, in which a young female character apologises to her partner before running and leaping into the arms of a smirking Ocon. The pair then quickly drive away amid the squeals of burning rubber.

While the size of Ocon’s role in the Honeymoon Crasher movie is unclear, the French racer has a much bigger responsibility with his new team, Haas, in 2025. The one-time Grand Prix winner has big boots to fill following ’s immense 2024 campaign.
One of the major talking points heading into Ocon’s first season as a Haas driver is his relationship with fellow new recruit Oliver Bearman. The Frenchman has clashed with team-mates , Fernando Alonso, and in the past, damaging his reputation as a strong team player.

However, team principal Ayao Komatsu will not entertain a repeat with Ocon and Bearman. “No, no, the rules of engagement have to be totally clear from day one,” he insisted.
“So that will be clarified before the first race. You know, I don’t expect any team-mate contact or DNFs because of that. But it’s good you have to race hard. Look at last year with Kevin [Magnussen]: he is a hard racer, and [with] Kevin and Nico, the closest we came to an issue that didn’t become an issue was Austria.

“That was partly because we operated in a not-perfect manner, in terms of pitstop timing, etc. We didn’t help ourselves. So as a team, we shouldn’t be creating those messes, but also with the understanding of each other as a team-mate, the rules of engagement will be perfectly clear.”
In Bearman, Ocon will have a formidable team-mate by his side. The Brit scored points on debut with and again with Haas in Baku, and at just 19 years of age, has been tipped to succeed compatriot at when the seven-time world champion calls time on his glittering F1 career.
