Emmerdale fans ‘work out’ father of April Windsor’s baby in Ross Barton paternity twist

In Tuesday night’s episode of Emmerdale, viewers were captivated by a powerful standalone instalment, delving into April’s (Amelia Flanagan) tragic ordeal on the streets.

Lately, Marlon (Mark Charnock) and Rhona (Zoe Henry) have been grappling with the profound stress faced by a family with a missing child. The previous day’s show finally revealed that April had been located.

Yet in wrenching sequences, April confided in a fellow young homeless boy about her pregnancy, the reason she felt she couldn’t go back home.

“Why did I have to get pregnant? This baby has ruined my whole life,” April wept.

The boy gravely responded, “If that’s what you’re thinking now, what do you think it’s going to be like when you’re a mum? Because that’s what you’re going to be, April, a mum,” reports .

Frustrated and overwhelmed, she yelled, “I said shut up,” before bolting away.

The closing scene was nothing short of devastating as fans watched April give birth alone in a gym toilet, only to discover the baby was stillborn, prompting her tearful apologies to the newborn.

Audiences flocked to social media to express their thoughts on April’s narrative, with rampant speculation about the baby’s paternity.

On a Facebook fan page, one viewer speculated: “April was pregnant before she ran away but who did she sleep with, do we know?”

Another suggested, “It could be Ross.”

“That would be a shock,” commented the third viewer, while another one expressed frustration: “It annoys me they have come up with another storyline with no context. The only lad we see April knocking about with is Arthur.”
