It’s not often you get something for nothing but that’s exactly what one , and rival is offering right now. Community Fibre – which connects over a million homes to the web – is currently dishing out totally free internet access to customers who sign up for its super fast broadband service.

The freebie is available across a swathe of plans including Community Fibre’s 150Mbps speeds, ludicrous 1Gbps downloads and even the provider’s market-leading 3Gbps. At that rapid rate, it would take well under 20 seconds to download a full HD movie – that’s over 30 times faster than the UK average.
Getting something for nothing may sound too good to be true, so what is the catch?
Firstly, unlike BT, Sky, Plusnet and Vodafone – which have total UK coverage – Community Fibre only connects areas of London to the web. If you live in the capital it’s easy to check and if you have access, simply head to Community Fibre’s website and check your postcode.
Next, it’s worth noting that the freebie only lasts for three months before reverting to the standard fee. Although you won’t get free access during the full 24-month contract prices are still pretty reasonable after the 90 days are up. For example, Community Fibre’s 150Mbps is free for three months then it costs just £21 per month which is cheaper than its rivals. That price is also guaranteed until 2026 so there won’t be any hikes this year.
