Bill Gates divorced from his ex-wife, Melinda French Gates, in 2021, and now has a new lady in his life.
The billionaire co-founder of Microsoft shared details about his new girlfriend, Paula Hurd, while appearing on TODAY on Feb. 4.
“I’m lucky to have a serious girlfriend named Paula,” he said. “So we’re having fun, going to the Olympics and lots of great things.”
The pair have been publicly spotted together at sporting events as early as 2022, but didn’t confirm their relationship until 2023, a source close to the couple told People.
Since then, Gates and Hurd have been photographed together at the 2024 Olympics, Baylor University basketball games and red carpets. Here’s what to know about Hurd.
Bill Gates gave Paula Hurd a shoutout in his memoir
Gates, 69, left a special shoutout for Hurd in the acknowledgements of his memoir, “Source Code,” which published on Feb. 4.
“Early readers of the manuscript included Paula Hurd, Marc St. John, and Sheila Gulati. The close read from dear and trusted friends provided much-needed thoughtful and insightful feedback at critical stages in the writing,” he wrote.
In “Source Code,” Gates recounts his childhood up until the late 1970s, a few years after he co-founded Microsoft alongside Paul Allen in 1975.
Gates said on TODAY the process of revisiting his early years was surprising because he doesn’t “look back much.”
“This year, I turn 70, Microsoft turns 50, and so I thought, OK, I should share what luck I had to have amazing parents, you know, the way they let me go out and hike and try new things,” he said.
