has given a new insight into his relationship with . The pair have been dating for almost five years and got engaged during the off-season.

Fans often see the power couple cheering each other on from the stands, as they did at the recent .

But the ATP No. 8 has now shared what they get up to away from the tennis court as he explained how Boulter helped him deal with the pressure of being a top player.

De Minaur enjoyed a successful Australian summer of tennis, reaching the quarter-final of his home Grand Slam tournament for the first time. He’s now in action at the ATP 500 in Rotterdam, where he is the third seed.

The 25-year-old is adjusting to life as one of the tour’s top players, which he admits is “intense” – especially in his home country. But Boulter has been a huge help, as De Minaur explained how they switched off from tennis together.

“It definitely does help the weeks that I’m with Katie. It makes it a lot easier to be so far away from home. They are long stints,” the nine-time title winner told the .

“I mean, a lot of time on the road. For me, it’s quite important to try to do stuff wherever we are.”

Sharing what he and Boulter get up to, De Minaur added: “It is important to try and go out for dinners, go out for coffees, try to make life as normal as you can. And enjoy the time with the people you have.

“Whether it’s friends, whether it’s players, your own team. For me, that’s the best way to make time go quicker in these long stints.

“Because ultimately there’s the tennis side of things, it’s always going to be intense and stressful and a lot of focus needed for that, but as soon as you step off the court, try to immerse yourself in the different cities, the different activities, restaurants, coffees, and just live as much of a normal life as you can.”

De Minaur has been steadily climbing up the rankings over the last few years until, in early 2024, he finally made his top 10 debut. Since then, the Aussie has been ranked as high as No. 6 in the world.

The difference between a few spots in the rankings has been noticeable for De Minaur, who was the talk of the town in Melbourne last month as Aussies hoped to see their first male singles champion in 49 years.

“It’s funny the change. Two years ago, I was No. 11 or 12,” De Minaur explained.

“Then I just moved up one spot, two spots and it makes such a big difference. In terms of eyeballs, the media, the pressures, the expectation, all of that.”

While De Minaur loves playing at home, he will be able to shed some of the extra pressure and expectation in Rotterdam this week. The third seed opens his campaign against former top-10 star David Goffin.
