And it’s easy to see why so many visitors flock to this hotspot with its central position making it the ideal base to discover the beauty that is Lake Como.
Menaggio is found in the heart of Lake Como, which over the years has attracted A-listers from around the world, and sits at the beginning of a valley which connects the famous lake to Lake Lugano.
Among some of the town’s best spots, Piazza Garibaldi is found in the heart of Menaggio and is where locals meet and congregate with a host of quaint cafes and restaurants on offer.

Menaggio is also an outdoor enthusiast’s dream thanks to its many hiking and cycling trails, with a hike to Monte Legnone coming in highly recommended.
This mountain is the highest peak in the Lake Como area. It is described as a challenging hike, but its rewards offer some of the most spectacular views, with panoramic views of the lake and its surrounding mountains.
Croce is another noteworthy spot. It is the highest hamlet in the region and home to the Menaggio Cadenabbia Golf Club, which was founded in 1907.
When looking to take a break from all the picture-perfect sights, Menaggio also has two beaches, beach Lerai and the Lido Beach Menaggio.
You’ll also be spoiled for choice when it comes to eateries here, offering up lake cuisine like no other including fried lake fish known as soused lake shads as well as cuisine of the nearby areas, centered on game, polenta, mushrooms and cheese.
