‘s top priority is said to be her work with children’s organisations again following her cancer battle, as the royal embraces her “important role in life”, according to a royal commentator.
The Princess of Wales was out , where she after she was named its patron before heading to the Welsh knitwear and sock manufacturer Corgi to shine a light on British industry.
Kate’s visit to the hospice held quite a significance as it aligned with her work in the early years of childhood – her biggest passion since marrying into the Royal Family in 2011.
In 2023 the princess launched her Shaping Us initiative, an ambitious campaign described as her “life’s work” and aimed at raising the profile of the crucial early years period of a child’s development, from pregnancy to the age of five.
Now royal expert Jennie Bond praised her on her devotion to the cause, telling the Mirror: “It’s very encouraging that the Princess is feeling strong enough to carry out several engagements so early in the New Year.

“I think we could all bet our bottom dollar that a top priority would be to work with children’s organisations again as soon as possible.
“This is not just lip service to a cause; early development is a passion for Catherine: something she believes profoundly as a key to a happier, more secure future for the young generation of today.
“She is now an acknowledged expert in this field and has everyday experience of childhood development by bringing up her own three children in a very hands-on way.”
Ms Bond added that the princess has always made clear that her family “must take precedence” over non-stop royal duties and following her cancer treatment, she is “even more determined” to stand by her relief as she embraces her “most important” role.
She explained: “I’m sure if you asked Catherine what her most important role in life is at the moment, it would be ‘being a mum’.
“She adores her husband, but her children are the centre of her world and she has thrown herself into bringing them up in what must be a rather confusing environment for a young mind, as normally and lovingly and securely as possible.

“She knows perfectly well that many parents don’t have the luxury of choosing to be with their young children all the time.
“And she, too, is returning to her royal role – but she is lucky enough to be able to do it on her own terms and she is sticking to that.
It comes as the princess launched a new initiative aimed at developing the nation’s “social and emotional skills” to alleviate the human cost from a world sometimes filled with “mistrust and misunderstanding”.
Kate said the state of modern life was leaving many feeling “isolated and vulnerable” during troubled periods, resulting in “poor mental health, addiction and abuse” that was “devastating” for those affected and society. She added the solution is to “develop and nurture” the social and emotional skills we all possess from the moment we are born which are the “bedrock of any healthy, happy society”, but this must be a priority if we are to “thrive”.
Kate’s Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood has published the Shaping Us Framework aimed at increasing awareness of these soft or life skills to inspire action across society.
The future Queen will this week attend an event showcasing the first project based on the framework, her fourth public engagement of the year as she continues to make a gradual return to royal duties after completing her cancer treatment last summer.
