NS&I has announced the Premium Bonds prize winners for the February draw including the two £1million jackpot winners.

The first £1million prize was won by a person from Kirklees with winning Bond number 150EN423722. They purchased their winning Bond in January 2009 when they bought £5,000 worth of Bonds.

The other jackpot prize goes out to a person from Sheffield, who holds winning Bond number 513EP525664. They previously had £10,000 in Bonds, which they purchased in September 2022.

Andrew Westhead, NS&I retail director, said: “We’re delighted to announce that February’s draw has brought million-pound wins to Kirklees and Sheffield.

“The Sheffield win marks the city’s fourth millionaire and is exactly two years since the last jackpot win there in February 2023.

“Yorkshire and the Humber may be on a jackpot winning streak, but thanks to ERNIE, more than £430 million in prizes have gone to bond holders up and down the country this month.”

Other large prizes in the monthly include a number of prizes for £100,000, £50,000 and £10,000, while the lowest prize you can win is £25.

Each Bond has an equal chance of winning a prize, with the odds of a £1 winning currently at 22,000 to one.

You can increase your chances of winning a prize by buying more Bonds, and many people set up their account so any winnings are reinvested in purchasing more Bonds.

But you may get lucky – one customer from Inner London won an £100,000 prize despite previously having just £100 in holdings.

Another person from Bristol took home £25,000 despite previously having just £300 in Bonds.

One long-time saver from Liverpool also won a £25,000 prize, for a winning Bond they purchased almost 50 years ago, in July 1976.

Don’t miss…

The oldest Bond to be paired with a prize this month belonged to a person from Tyne and Wear. They purchased the winning Bond in July 1961, when they purchased £4 in Bonds. Their previous holdings were just £19.

When purchasing Bonds, you have to buy at least £25 worth. You can purchase them online, over the phone or by post.

It’s worth checking if you have any unclaimed prizes to collect from the most recent draw or further back, as there are millions of prizes still unclaimed.

Figures from NS&I as of December 2024 showed there were almost 2.5 million prizes yet to be collected.

This included eight prizes for £100,000 and 12 prizes for £50,000, with a total of over 200 prizes worth £5,000 or more.

NS&I contacts people to let them know they have won, via text, email or post, but messages may not reach the person if they have changed their details such as their address. You can update your details .
