viewers couldn’t hide their frustrations after two players went up against in the final round.

Monday’s (February 3) of the quiz show saw four new contestants take on The Sinnerman in the hopes of walking away with some cash.

Out of the four players, only Tom and Kevin made it through to the final chase. Fans had high hopes for the duo as they were playing for an eye-watering £80,000.

However, Tom, 29, and Kevin, 46, struggled with the questions in the final chase, only answering 11 correctly between them.

Before trying to match their score, Paul admitted that he had never lost to a team who ended on a total of 11. And that didn’t change today.

The chaser caught their score with 48 seconds remaining, meaning the two stars had to wave goodbye to the £80,000.

Viewers were hoping Tom and Kevin would have done a better job in the final chase as they took to social media to express their disappointment.

One claimed the performance was “terrible” while another branded it “woeful”.

Another furious fan posted: “If you don’t know the answer instantly; just pass! Them seconds you spend thinking of an answer you don’t know all add up! If you pass them; you could get questions you know instantly and answer more in the time wasted!”

A fourth declared: “Well, that’s an anti-climax,” as another wrote: “I was hoping more from these guys, shame really.”

Tom, a communications director from London, kickstarted the game and answered five questions correctly in the cash builder. He refused Paul’s other offers, playing for the £5,000 he originally earned.

After he made it through, Sharon was hoping to add to the prize pot. The 55-year-old went up against Paul for £4,000, but unfortunately, was caught before she could make it back.

Donna, who hails from Swansea, was up next and also answered four questions correctly in the cash builder. Things then took a worrying turn for the team as the 36-year-old insurance manager was also caught.

That left Kevin, who answered three questions correctly in his first round. Believing Paul’s offer of -£1,000 was too low, Kevin decided to take the high offer of £75,000, taking the team’s overall total to £80,000.
