Jeremy Strong is known for truly immersing himself in his acting, and this time, he’s done so literally.
On Feb. 2, Dunkin’ aired a delightfully bonkers commercial during the 2025 Grammys teasing the next chapter of The DunKings saga—the fake Boston boy band led by Ben Affleck and famous pals like Tom Brady, Matt Damon and now Kendall Roy himself.
The new 45-second spot, titled “The Bean Method,” shows Affleck back in his Dunkin’-branded tracksuit along with brother — and new member — Casey Affleck.
Outside Strong’s dressing room, the brothers discuss his preparation for a yet-to-be-revealed project they’re all filming. The “Succession” star has made waves for his serious acting style.
“Jeremy is a method actor,” Casey tells Ben in the ad. “He’s preparing, he’s doing his research.”
“I never did no research on nothin’. Look where I’m at,” Ben replies back.
The brothers squabble some more before opening the door to a deeply-unusual sight: Strong slowly emerging, soaked in wet coffee beans from within the depths of a cargo-sized barrel. Jump-scared, Ben asks what he’s doing.
“We’re doing a Dunkin’ doughnuts commercial right?” Strong answers, still dripping with grounds and beany brew.”I’m just trying to find the character.”
Strong riffs on his motivations for his part in what they’re about to film: Boston, Paul Revere, the Redcoats and phrases like “Minute Men” and “Forsooth” written on a white board behind him. Ben asks how long “The Bean Method” will take.
“I’ll be ready in about three hours,” Strong says.
Dunkin’ says the ad serves as a teaser for Ben and friends as they embark on the next chapter of The DunKings.
The next chapter in the story will come on Sunday, Feb. 9 — likely during the Super Bowl — with Ben, Casey and Strong, who probably still smells like a pot of medium roast.
