Bear Grylls appeared on BBC The One Show on Monday night
He elaborated on his unease with being in front of the camera, saying, “I really don’t like the camera and from really early on in the TV shows we started making. When I first started it was like you were trying to get away from the camera because I was always behind it, on the move and running.”
He went on to say, “No one is ever saying action and there is never a second take of anything. They just turn the camera on and they know I find it really hard but as long as I don’t really know and we are just doing it, it’s OK”, reports .
Delving deeper into his thoughts, Bear shared, “I find lots of things hard and life generally is scary but I have learnt the way to deal with the scary stuff is not to run from it, you’ve just got to face it.
“The more you do it, it becomes like a muscle inside and then you get better at it and I think it’s a comfort zone you have to get out of it fast and keep challenging.”

He added: “It’s a bit like grapes, it’s not until you squeeze to see what you are really made of. So you never know at the start.”
Bear revealed that he admired Shirley’s steely determination: “But I think people like Shirley, who is a little bit older than the others, you might think, ‘Aw she is patient, how is she going to manage?’ but she was steely.
“You don’t get to the top of a dance profession unless you are calm in a crisis, laser focused and determined and I kind of like that.”.
