may have appeared happy at the wedding of her grandson with American actress , however it seems there was one part of the big day that the late Queen was not too fond of.

While it is believed Her Majesty accepted Meghan, 43, fondly into the family, Meghan’s choice of wedding dress was not something that massively pleased the late Queen, according to one royal author.

This is because Meghan wore a very white dress for her wedding to Harry in 2018, something that as the actress was a divorcee, having previously been married to producer Trevor Engelson from 2011 to 2013.

Ingrid Seward wrote about the dress in her book ‘My Mother And I’, and said the late Queen told one of her closest confidantes Lady Elizabeth Anson that Meghan’s dress was “too white”.

Ms Seward wrote in her book: “In the monarch’s view, it was not appropriate for a divorcee getting remarried in church to look quite so flamboyantly virginal.”

While the late Queen reportedly approved of Meghan, with the pair having once been spotted laughing together at a royal engagement, it is believed Her Majesty was disappointed with the decision made by , 40, and Meghan to quit life as senior royals in 2020 and move to America.

In the book by Katie Nicholl titled ‘The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth’s Legacy and the Future of the Crown’, a source close to the Firm said not to be senior working royals anymore.

The source told author and royal expert Ms Nicholl: “She was very hurt and told me, ‘I don’t know, I don’t care, and I don’t want to think about it anymore’.”

The late Queen only saw the couple and their two children Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, a handful of times after they relocated to America, with Queen Elizabeth sadly passing away in September 2022.

Harry and Meghan both attended the funeral, with . While the couple have made blistering comments, criticism and allegations about some members of the Royal Family, they have always spoken favourably about Harry’s grandmother.

At the time of her death, Harry wrote: “Life, of course, consists of final partings as well as first meetings.

“Granny, while this final parting brings us great sadness, I am forever grateful for all of our first meetings – from my earliest childhood memories with you, to meeting you for the first time as my Commander-in-Chief, to the first moment you met my darling wife and hugged your beloved great-grandchildren.

“I cherish these times shared with you, and the many other special moments in between. You are already sorely missed, not just by us, but by the world over.”
