Jack Nicholson now lives a life far away from the spotlight, with friends claiming he has become a “recluse”.
The legend, whose last acting job came in 2010 movie How Do You Know, has officially stepped out of the limelight and prefers to keep a low profile. Now 87, Jack lives in a $5million Beverly Hills mansion.
The home occupies one acre on Mulholland Drive, and was purchased by the actor in 1993, after previously being owned by Marlon Brando.
Though Jack was last seen in public in May 2023, he is thankfully being supported by his children, including his actor son Ray Nicholson who shot to fame in Smile 2.
The star was spotted attending an NBA playoff game back in 2023, attending the Crypto.com Arena in LA to watch the Los Angeles Lakers against the Memphis Grizzlies with Ray at his side.

Jack Nicholson lives a very private life
Since then, Jack has made a very rare appearance on his daughter Lorraine’s page in January 2025, and one snap saw them cuddling up together in a room filled with trophies, books and artwork.
Jack has six children in total – sons Ray and Caleb, and daughters Lorraine, Jennifer, Honey and Tessa.
He has only been married once, to Sandra Knight from 1962 until their divorce in 1968, but he has had several long-term partners – his last being Lara Flynn Boyle, who he split from in 2004.

Jack’s friends have opened up on his quiet lifestyle, with one insider telling Closer magazine: “Jack has been slowing down a lot in recent years and has become somewhat of a recluse.
“There was a lot of concern for him because of it and even though he played it down and told people he was just fine, he’s definitely had some pretty serious health struggles.”
Jack hasn’t officially retired from acting, but his longtime friend Lou Adler confessed on the WTF With Marc Maron podcast in 2023: “A friend of mine wanted to put him in a movie … And he had a conversation with him. But Jack says, ‘I don’t want to do it.’ He goes, ‘You know what I did today? I sat under a tree and I read a book.’”

In 2013, one source alleged to RadarOnline: “There is a simple reason behind his decision [to retire] – it’s memory loss. Quite frankly, at 76, Jack has memory issues and can no longer remember the lines being asked of him.”
Thankfully his kids have always been there to support him, with the source adding: “He’s got a small group of friends that visit him, as well, but it’s really his kids that are most devoted.
“They nag him about seeing his doctors and monitor his diet, he jokes that he can’t even eat a candy bar these days without getting a lecture from one of his kids, but he clearly loves all the attention they give him.”
