Silk Road Music: Lunar New Year Celebration
What to know about the tour: A family-friendly event for ages 6+ featuring the music of the West Coast Music Awards-winning ensemble, Silk Road Music. Blending Chinese folk traditions with jazz, blues, Brazilian and more, the group has prepared a set list of seasonal classics to ring in the Year of the Snake.
John Reischman & the Jaybirds

What to know about the tour: Bluegrass Unlimited magazine declares the Vancouver-based mandolin player, John Reischman, is “one of the world’s undisputed masters” on the instrument. From his work on the Grammy-winning True Life Blues: The Songs of Bill Monroe to recordings by his ace ensemble the Jaybirds, Reischman continues to stake out new territory for the musical tradition.
International Guitar Night Tour
When and where: Feb. 1, 7 p.m. at Massey Theatre, 735 8th Ave., New Westminster

Eivør and Sylvaine
What to know about the tour: Hailing from the Faroe Islands, Eivør Pálsdóttir recently won the USA Songwriting Competition in the world music category for her song Jarðartrá / Dust to Dust and kicks off her North American dates in Vancouver. Eivør mixes Nordic folk, ambient metal and more.
Chest Fever
Who else is on the tour: Mrs. Henry will open for its alter ego. The band is riding high on its rock opera Keep On Rising.
David Gray: Past and Present Tour
What to know about the tour: U.K. singer/-songwriter Gray dropped his 13th album this January. Having broken out globally with his acclaimed album White Ladder, Gray hasn’t toured North America in awhile and shows on this tour are selling out fast.
Trentemøller
What to know about the tour: Copenhagen multi-instrumentalist and singer Trentemøller is a specialist in layered electronic darkwave music with a healthy underpinning of dance grooves to keep the room in motion.
Mount Eerie
When and where: Feb. 13, 7 p.m. Rickshaw Theatre
What to know about the tour: Hailing from Anacortes, Washington, musician Phil Elverum fronts the lo-fi noise group Mount Eerie. Elverum, also a member of the band the Microphones, morphed into this new group after the Microphones released its album titled Mount Eerie in 2003. Since then, he has developed a dedicated following for his distinctive sounds.
Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats: South of Here Tour
What to know about the tour: Denver-based roots rocker Nathaniel Rateliff was hardly a newcomer to the music scene when the track S.O.B. blew up. In fact, the singer was contemplating calling it quits before the single ignited interest in his swinging and gritty Southern folk and soul sounds. This is the band’s first headlining arena tour.
5th Annual Jazz @ The Bolt Festival
What to know about the tour: Bringing together the talents of Cellar Music Group and festival founder Cory Weeks and Infidels Jazz founder Tim Reinert, the annual Jazz at the ‘Bolt festival has become one of the premier jazz showcases for both international and national name acts, as well as the many talented artists active in the B.C. jazz and improvised music scenes. With continuous sets running morning till evening, this is a chance to enjoy up to 13 acts a day for a budget price.
Parkland — 50 Farewell
What to know about the tour: Parkland, the project of Vancouver musician Rob Malowany, has long specialized in atmospheric chamber folk/rock releases that really found an audience in the Lowlands of Europe. Thus the reason why the artist is relocating to the Netherlands to continue his musical endeavours. Before he sets off on this next adventure, Parkland is playing a final farewell show.
Tyler the Creator: Chromakopia: The World Tour

What to know about the tour: One of contemporary R&B/Hip-hop’s most innovative and intriguing artists, Tyler the Creator is out on the road in support of the new album Chromakopia. Following a critically-acclaimed set at last year’s Coachella Festival, interest in the artist’s new album hit a peak. With the release of the banging single Noid, Chromakopia quickly rose through the charts.
