In one video post, Rooney, 39, can be seen having the wig put on his head before impersonating the character saying: “Hello my dear.” And actor Gabriel admits Wayne’s neck was “so thick” that it couldn’t fit into the prop.
Gabriel explains: “Recently we had Wayne Rooney try on the mask and wig. His neck is so thick and strong it didn’t fit but that added to the overall hilarity of the look. Before I remembered to tell Coleen not to go public it was everywhere!”
Coleen, 38, enjoyed their date night so much she posted their experience on social media and captioned the snaps: “Really enjoyed the show… Amazing cast, lots of laughs throughout. And lots of laughs afterwards.”

Wayne and Coleen have been together since they were 16 and have four sons, Kai, 15, Klay, 11, Kit, eight, and Cass, six. Mrs Doubtfire The Musical has become a West End hit with a string of top celebrities attending including Jeff Goldblum, Stanley Tucci, Emily Blunt, Dame Joan Collins, and Harry Maguire.
And actor Gabriel reveals he watched the original film starring Robin Williams over 100 times to perfect the role.
He says: “I watched it about 97 times when I was 13 and finally got hold of the VHS.
“Since then I watched it a lot before auditioning and shortly before and during rehearsals.
“I dip into specific scenes now and then and YouTube is great for some deleted scenes; one deleted scene was turned into a song for the show.
“I rewatched another scene towards the end of the movie again just to get some more ideas from Robin. It’s always good to keep reminding myself of that wonderful character’s voice.”

One of the film’s original cast members Lisa Jakub, who played Lydia Hillard, has also seen the show.
He explained: “At the end of the show she came onstage and spoke passionately to the audience about the importance of family and that everything will be alright as long as there is love in your life.
“It was beautiful and brought an odd timeless quality to that evening.
“We hope to see some more faces from the original movie. We had one we had to reschedule so we hope they will be in some time – maybe another reason for audiences to come – you never know who might be there!”
