The Street of the Iconic Kiss Scene
If you’ve never seen the films, there is one thing you know about Bridget Jones, summarised into one word: Knickers. Throughout the films, she can be seen choosing some questionable underwear, which Hugh Grant’s character, Daniel Cleaver, once referred to as “absolutely enormous pants”.
In the final scene of the original film, we see Bridget running out into the snow dressed in unflattering zebra-print pants in search of Mark Darcey after they have a row.
It turns out Darcey, played by Colin Firth, was buying Bridget a new diary, and the two share a passionate kiss in the snow.
But it seems the romantic moment happened in quite the opposite setting. You can visit the street that birthed the iconic line “Nice boys don’t kiss like that” outside of 0-11 Royal Exchange on Threadneedle Street, just around the corner from Bank Station.
Who knew that this magical movie moment was set against the bank drop of the historic Bank of England?

The Greek restaurant in the ‘real fight’ scene
This scene follows Bridget’s love rivals, Mark Darcey and Daniel Cleaver fighting in the street outside of Bridget’s flat. The street is on the edges of London’s bustling Borough Market, on Bedale Street.
One of Bridget’s comical best friends opens the doors of a restaurant and declares, “Fight…quick, it’s a real fight!”
As the enemies brawl their way through a Greek restaurant, crashing into tables and smashing up plates, they continue to have that quintessential British charm, feverishly apologising to disrupted customers.
You can now go for a drink in this very spot, but in 2025, what once was the Greek restaurant now stands as a chic wine merchant called Bedales of Borough Market.
Bridget Jones Apartment
While you’re in the area, you must take a look over the road at Bridget’s famous flat, 8 Bedale St, sitting above The Globe pub.
The apartment features throughout the entirety of the film series, from hosting dinner parties where she cooked the tragic “blue soup” to singing All By Myself on the sofa and ironing her hair—these four walls have seen it all.
However, in the films, writers depict Bridget’s home as something to be embarrassed of, but in actuality, the flat sits right next to Borough Market in a sought-after Zone 1 area of London and is now worth around £1 million.
According to , in 2001, when Bridget Jones Diary was first released, the one-bed flat would have cost around £190,000.
Since the film’s release the area has seen a whopping 53% increase in value.
The bar Bridget’s friends drink in
The iconic trio of Bridget’s best friends are the characters constantly bringing her back down to earth with their humorous and often harsh advice.
In The Edge of Reason, the second film of the four, when Bridget and Mark are in their prime, her friends can’t help but think that he might be cheating on her.
After a fair few glasses of wine and cigarettes, when the days of smoking indoors were prohibited, the group convinced her to confront him.
This frank conversation happens inside a bar that you and your own friends can have a drink in, known as The Light Bar in Shoreditch.
Mad About The Boy locations
Stars Leo Woodall and Rachel Zellweger were spotted on numerous occasions filming for Mad About The Boy, from the beauty of the Lake District to the charm of Hampstead.
For the fourth film, Bridget waves goodbye to Borough Market and says hello to a family home in North London’s Hampstead, claims .
It’s here, on Hampstead Heath, that she meets a new love interest, played by Woodall, by an oak tree. This wholesome spot is on the peak of Parliament Hill on the Heath, offering stunning views of London.
Filming for the new movie also took place in the Lake District, where Bridget accompanies her child’s class on a school trip.
