According to , Beatrice could have followed a sweet family tradition when it came to choosing a name for her new baby.
Like her older sister, Athena’s second name is an obvious tribute to Beatrice’s beloved grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth.
But back in 2021, a source told the outlet one of the reasons behind Sienna’s first name, which could be attributed to Athena’s first name too.
They claimed that Sienna was inspired Beatrice’s mother, Sarah Ferguson and Edo’s Italian background.
They said: “They were looking for an Italian name which started with an S for Sarah, to honour the Duchess [of York].”

According to the outlet, “therefore it could be suggested that Athena could be a tribute to Beatrice’s father , which also begins with an A.”
Fergie, as she is known to friends and family, issued an adorable statement following the birth of her granddaughter.
