James Wilkie Broderick has entered the family business, according to People.
The 22-year-old son of Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker will be featured onscreen with his dad for the first time in the Feb. 20 episode of the mystery series “Elsbeth” titled “Foiled Again.”
“I was so proud and happy to work with my son, James,” Broderick, 62, told People of the experience. “I’m excited for the episode to come out.”
The show stars Carrie Preston as Elsbeth Tascioni, an unconventional attorney who helps the NYPD corner criminals. Broderick guest stars as an independent educational consultant who helps “average” kids get into Ivy League schools, and James Wilkie plays a trainer at the company.
Born in 2002, James is Broderick and Parker’s oldest son. The couple is also raising twins Tabitha Hodge and Marion Loretta Elwell, who were born via surrogate in 2009.
Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick don’t share many photos of their family, but Parker will occasionally post on social media for a milestone. She posted a sweet slideshow of Instagram images to mark James’ 20th birthday, writing, “All the feelings I had ever known, deeper, magnified and in brilliant new colors.”
Would James consider a film career? Quite possibly.
In early 2024, he posted stills from a short film that he starred in titled “Dinner in the Evening.” It was created by Brown Motion Pictures, the Ivy League’s largest student-run production club from Brown University.
But now James has made the move to an appearance on a network television series with a much bigger audience.
