Mathys Tel has reportedly snubbed a £50m move to Tottenham
have reportedly failed in their £50million bid to sign Mathys Tel, leaving the door open for and to capture the Bayern Munich star.
The north London outfit reportedly submitted an offer on Thursday, which was accepted by the Bundesliga giants after Tel revealed his desire to leave in talks with Vincent Kompany.
But according to reports in France, Tel has ‘refused’ to join after mulling over the move with his family.
There are still clubs locked in talks with the player’s camp, suggesting he could still move to England in the coming days.
The 19-year-old has attracted interest from a number of clubs across Europe, with Spurs also joined by , and United in admiring the promising forward.
Spurs boss had remained coy over his purported interest in bringing in the teenager before the transfer deadline on February 3 when asked by reporters on Thursday.
“I can’t tell you anything about Tel,” Postecoglou said, after watching his side beat Elfsborg 3-0 in the Europa League.
“I am focusing on getting the team ready [to face Brentford on Thursday]… other people are working in the background.”

Tel is yet to score for the Bundesliga giants this season in 13 appearances in all competitions, although he has only been afforded two league starts by head coach Kompany.
