Kelly Rowland Shares The Hilarious Reason Her Husband Wants Her To Skip Son’s Sports Games

Kelly Rowland may be a former Destiny’s Child member, but when it comes to her actual children’s destiny, her husband has some advice.

On Thursday, after walking through the Jennifer Hudson Show’sSpirit Tunnel,” Rowland sat down with the host to discuss the joys of motherhood. The artist, who shares two boys, Titan, 10, and Noah, 4, with husband and music executive Tim Weatherspoon, said her children are “good.”

Throughout the interview, Rowland spoke with tenderness about her youngest son, describing him as a child who is currently “getting into everything.” She reflected on the unique dynamics of raising two kids, adding that no one warned her that her second child could be so different from the first.

Later in the conversation, Rowland revealed that her eldest son recently received his “first trophy” for his participation in flag football, but confessed that “his heart is in basketball.”

Hudson, whose son also shares a passion for basketball, asked Rowland if she enjoys attending her son’s games, and how she feels when she does.

“I had to pull back from some of the games,” Rowland said. “I’m the spirited mom.”

Hudson assured Rowland that this passionate energy was indeed a “good thing.” But Rowland admitted that things can quickly take a turn if anyone “come[s] at [her] baby wrong.”

“My husband’s like, ‘You know, you should stay home this game. I don’t know what’s going [to happen],’ and I’m like, ‘Word?’”

She went on to express that, despite occasional tension, she loves watching her song grow through these experiences. “It’s teaching him sportsmanship,” Rowland said.

The “Motivation” singer also shared she’d attended the Broadway debut of fellow former Destiny’s Child member Michelle Williams in “Death Becomes Her.”
