Former F1 driver David Coulthard has got engaged to his Swedish girlfriend, who is 24 years his junior, after she gave him a ‘glowing report’.
The 53-year-old whisked his partner, Sigrid Silversand, to a romantic getaway in Mauritius and decided to propose after a four-year relationship.
The ex- and driver was first seen with Silversand, 29, in 2022 after the couple went public with their relationship, although they have been together since 2021.
While the couple enjoyed the sun at the luxury holiday resort, the Scot got down on one knee and propose to the supermodel, who didn’t hesitate in saying ‘yes’.
Coulthard’s close friend and former colleague Eddie Jordan let the news slip after sending out a message of congratulations earlier this week.
In an article with Boat International, the Irishman said: “I’ve got to send a very special congratulations to my old mate David Coulthard, who’s just run off to Mauritius and got engaged to a Swedish model 23 years his junior!
“She’s taller than him, which I like to remind him about as often as I can.”
The 13-time race winner was a ‘proper gentleman’ when he popped the question and ‘wasn’t nervous’ in the build-up, according to Silversand.

“It was a surprise as David is really good at hiding,” she told the Daily Mail. “He kept it a secret and asked my parents for permission to marry me. He’s a proper gentleman and there are only a few of them left.”
Coulthard is set to walk down the aisle a second time after his previous marriage to former Belgian model Karen Minier, who is a TV reporter.
The former couple have a son together, 15-year-old karting prodigy Dayton Minier Coulthard, while he acted as a stepdad to Minier’s daughter from a prior relationship.
The couple tied the knot in Monaco in November 2013, but decided to go their separate ways in 2021 and the pair finalised their divorce a year later.

Not long after, he began dating Silversand and the duo sparked rumours of a quickfire engagement after she was spotted with a diamond ring on her finger whilst out in London. However, those rumours were quickly shut down.
Coulthard recently boasted about how his new fiancee gave him a ‘glowing report’ after undergoing tests to check his testosterone levels.
“I got a glowing report there and also a medical report,” Coulthard said on the podcast. “I had my testosterone checked and I am in the top one per cent of males apparently.
“One of the thoughts is that because of high levels of adrenaline through a sporting career then that sort of super charges the testosterone in the body. So no issues there.”
