The star is aiming to raise money for his charity
Anton Du Beke is set to shock audiences this weekend with a game that will go down in the annals of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire history. The judge breezes through the initial rounds, only to stumble on a question about dance and musicals, putting him in a tight spot and risking thousands for his chosen charity, The Sick Children’s Trust.
Host shared with the Mirror: “When that cropped up, I thought well ‘this was tailor made for you’ and then it wasn’t. It’s a bit like me not knowing a Nico Rosberg question.”
An insider from the show revealed that what transpired during and after the £32,000 question was unprecedented in the celebrity version of the series.
They added: “Anton does something we have never seen before on the show and high stakes are involved. He seemed shocked at the end of his game and the studio audience were too.”

The TV judge is hoping to bag the big money
Jeremy, 64, welcomes Anton, 58, to the show by jesting that he was “known for being paired with older celebrities who couldn’t dance, so you’ll be right at home with me”.
When queried whether he would reciprocate by joining Strictly, Jeremy firmly responded: “No. I loathe dancing, I truly loathe dancing. I have danced. But I will only dance to ‘Modern Love’ by David Bowie and only if I’ve had every single drop of alcohol in a place!
“So, it’s not actually dancing, it’s mostly not falling over is all I’m actually doing. People think I’m dancing but it isn’t – it’s just me trying to stay up!”

Anton struggled with a dance question
Anton’s great effort on the game show comes hot on the heels of Sir Stephen Fry landing £250,000 on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, with Jeremy assisting him on an inquiry during a star-studded edition of the quiz.
The ever-popular ITV programme, initially ushered onto our screens by Chris Tarrant, introduced a new lifeline titled “ask the host” in 2018 when it was rebooted with Jeremy at the helm.
Sir Stephen, known for his previous role on QI and his work as an actor and comedian, also reached out to Richard Osman, famed for Pointless and his literary works, utilising his ‘phone a friend’ option for the £500,000 question.
Unfortunately, the quiz extraordinaire couldn’t deliver the win.
“I am delighted and I am not complaining at all,” said Sir Stephen, commenting on the experience as extremely enjoyable and remarking on how swiftly time passed.
He lauded Jeremy for the support provided: “Jeremy is very encouraging, and he was great with the question that took me to a quarter of a million.”
