The UK is preparing for a major -7C , with most of the country forecasted to experience heavy , freezing temperatures, and treacherous conditions.

Latest weather maps reveal that , in the far north of , is the only county surprisingly set to avoid the worst of the chaos.

Snow maps from WX Charts show significant accumulations across much of Scotland, northern England, and down into the Midlands and South, with some areas in the Highlands expected to receive up to 10 cm of snow.

Cities such as Inverness, Edinburgh, Manchester, and Birmingham are likely to be heavily impacted by the storm. Even London and parts of the southern coast are forecast to see wintry showers and sleet.

In sharp contrast, Caithness in northeast Scotland appears to stand apart as the only county in the UK where snowfall is expected to be minimal or absent, despite its northern location.

Benefiting from its unique geographical position and slightly milder coastal influences, the area is projected to avoid the heavy snow blanketing its neighboring regions.

The temperature during the -7C blizzard will be bitterly cold, with much of the UK experiencing a deep freeze. Forecasts from Netweather show that Scotland will see some of the lowest temperatures, particularly in the Highlands, where it could drop to -7°C.

Northern England will also face severe cold, with temperatures falling between -3°C and -5°C, while the Midlands and southern England are expected to hover between -2°C and 0°C.

Wales will see similar freezing conditions, with temperatures around -2°C, and even London and the South East will struggle to stay above freezing, with readings between 0°C and 2°C.

Although Caithness is expected to avoid the heavy snowfall that will blanket much of the country, temperatures there will still be well below freezing, ranging from -2°C to -4°C.

With strong winds and heavy snowfall in many areas, blizzard conditions will make travel hazardous, and the extreme cold will add to the risk of ice and frost. The combination of snow, wind, and sub-zero temperatures will create dangerous winter conditions across the UK.

The blizzard is expected to peak around February 10, with continued updates from meteorologists as the system develops.
