Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are not working members of the Royal Family
and may reportedly have to step up for in a as, according to a royal expert, Charles’s will have to be “readdressed” following their recent health woes.
King Charles and the Princess of Wales were both diagnosed with a type of cancer last year and had to step away from the spotlight as they underwent treatment.
This resulted left behind to pick up the workload, with a royal commentator suggesting the King’s plan may have to be rethought.
Currently, there are 11 working members of the Royal Family and they include King Charles and Queen Camilla, the Prince and Princess of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, the Princess Royal, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra.
The list excludes the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who quit the Firm in 2020, and the Duke of York, who stepped down in 2019 following the furore around his ties with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

But according to Vanity Fair’s royal correspondent Katie Nicholl, ‘s daughters with Sarah Ferguson, and , could provide the Firm with a big helping hand in the years to come.
She told the : “We’ve got Princess Anne, who’s about to turn 75 but still carrying out hundreds of engagements a year. We’ve got the Edinburghs.
“We’ve got the Waleses but you know, with the princess having gone through her own health journey, her workload has been reduced over the past year. So there’s got to be a plan B. We may have to look at something different.
“I think the king’s whole idea of a slimmed down monarchy is something that is having to be readdressed because of circumstances within the royal family.”

Ms Nicholl said Beatrice, who’s currently expecting her second child, and Eugenie, even though they are not working members of the Firm, are both keen on carrying out some royal work.
She explained: “When you look at Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, they’ve been very much encouraged to go and live independent lives of the royal family, to earn their own living, not to be dependent on taxpayer-funded security, not to be a drain, I suppose, on the public purse.
“So it would be a step in a different direction. I think possibly it is being looked at.
“I know that both Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie are keen to do some royal work around their jobs and their home lives.”
