has toasted her love of the popular pub chain by spending £500 on a 1.6-foot-wide tattoo of the name of the brand on her stomach.

Brave Tasha Bentley chose to have the impressive inking in homage to her favourite hostelry and to combine two of her passions, “Wetherspoons” and “metal bands”.

Ms Bentley, who has a spectacular 55 tattoos in total, had the moniker of the pub written in five-inch tall death metal font on her midriff in a procedure that took over six months.

Now the 23-year-old has stunned her friends, family and staff at her local The Bull’s Head Hotel in Walkden, Greater Manchester, when she revealed the “iconic” additon to her bodily etchings.

Ms Bentley said as she is now she is hopeful she may get a free whiskey from the chain in recognition of it.

Ms Bentley, from Bolton, Greater Manchester, said: “The tattoo combines two of my favourite things – I love Wetherspoon and I love metal bands. I reckon I’m one of Wetherspoon’s biggest fans now I’ve got the name on me.

“I wanted it as an underboob piece but because of how big it is and how my body sits it looked a mess and wouldn’t have worked. It would have had to have been cut off a little bit so me and the artist who did it decided to do it on my stomach.

“It (getting the piece finished) was on and off for so long last year, it was overwhelming. When I saw it all done I nearly cried, it was like ‘I’ve finally got it done’, it was like I’d received good news, it was a weird feeling.

“It’s a Wetherspoon tattoo, you don’t expect that kind of feeling. I was just so happy. Seeing it on Facebook I knew straight away ‘that is me’. Now seeing it on my body – it’s an iconic piece. It’s my favourite piece out of all the tattoos I have.”

Ms Bentley, whose favourite Wetherspoons cocktail is a Bumbu colada, was inspired to go under the needle after being tagged by a pal in a Facebook post sharing the quirky design.

Falling in love with it on sight, Ms Bentley decided to get it done at The Painted Man tattoo parlour in Bolton, Greater Manchester.

Ms Bentley said it is a combination of the food and drink they sell, friendly punters and staff and feeling “safe” while drinking there, that made Wetherspoons her go-to venue.

She added: “I just love it. It’s affordable, there are lots of options, people at my local are friendly and I feel safe there, especially on my own. My other love is metal music. When I was 12 I was more into indie and pop-punk like Green Day and Nirvana.

“As I’ve grown I grew more into heavier music and bands like Cannibal Corpse, Mötley Crüe and Anthrax. That kind of music has an iconic font so I’ve combined the two in the tattoo.”
