The fire which destroyed Grenfell Tower took place in June, 2017, and is one of the worst modern disasters the UK and city of London has ever faced.

Just before 1am on June 14, a fire broke out in the kitchen of a fourth floor flat at the 23 storey tower block in North Kensington, West London.

It only took minutes for the fire to race up the exterior of the building, spreading to all four sides. By 3am, most of the upper floors were in flames.

The footage is sure to anger Londonders and non-Londonders alike, as we now know that the tragedy could have been preventable.

The subsequent Grenfell Inquiry’s final report concluded that a chain of failures across the government and private sector had let to the tower becoming “a death trap”.

The cladding was found to be the “principal” reason for the blaze’s rapid spread, with fire tests decades earlier revealing how dangerous it was.

Now, will tell the story of the victims, survivors and bereft loved ones of those affected by the fire at Grenfell.

Soleta Rogan, MD of Rogan Productions said: “We are immensely proud of the production team that has worked tirelessly to bring as many elements of the systemic failures to light as possible, and we are incredibly grateful to those affected by the tragedy in their various ways for sharing their stories and experiences with us.”

Olaide Sadiq, Director, Rogan Productions added: “It’s vital to convey the significance of the investigative findings, but we are equally committed to highlighting that Grenfell was a home—a place of comfort and safety for the residents – that was sadly compromised to the extent where people’s right to safety was stripped away. This film has been shaped by the voices of Grenfell’s bereaved and survivors, and those who fought for change long before the tragedy as well as after.”

has not yet confirmed a release date for Grenfell.
