Patrick Dorgu will have to wait for his debut due to a delay in the Lecce left-wing-back’s £29million transfer, according to reports. looks set to go without his impending first signing as head coach for at least another two games, extinguishing hope of a weekend bow.
Earlier this week, United struck an agreement with Lecce to sign Dorgu for an initial £25m plus £4m in potential add-ons.
Reports later that the 20-year-old was expected in Manchester on Thursday to undergo medical tests and sign his contract.
That offered hope that United supporters could see their new man in action for the first time when Crystal Palace visit Old Trafford in the on Sunday.
Dorgu is set to be fit for selection instantly, having started all 21 Serie A games for which he’s been available for his season.
However, a minor setback has delayed his maiden appearance as a United player until next week at the earliest.
According to , United have been forced to reschedule Dorgu’s medical due to documents and contracts taking longer to sign than planned.
There are no problems with the deal, and the Denmark international could now fly to the UK and complete his checks this weekend.
