Great British Bake Off’s Prue Leith has been replaced on the spin-off show
judge Prue Leith has been replaced on the baking show as they revealed the new star-studded line-up for the celebrity specials.
The beloved baking show’s spin-off series is set to return with a band as a new judge joins Paul in the famous white tent. Last year, it was revealed that the 84-year-old chef had decided to step back from Bake Off’s special to focus on the original series.
Now, TV bosses have confirmed that the mum-of-two will no longer be judging the show alongside the silver fox. Instead, her close friend Caroline Waldegrave OBE will be taking over her judging role.
The 72-year-old presenter is also a former co-owner and managing director of Leith’s School of Food and Wine – Prue’s successful business.

This year, Bake Off features a married couple as well as famous TV siblings. Competing in the tent includes Jim Howick, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Maxine Peake, Self Esteem AKA Rebecca Lucy Taylor, Meera Syal and Sophie Willan taking part.
Also swapping out microphones for aprons is broadcaster Sarah Beeny, Chicken Shop Date star Amelia Dimoldenberg and sibling TV stars Scarlette and Stuart Douglas.
Other household names include GMB’s Kate Garraway, model and author Ellie Goldstein, Loose Women’s Gloria Hunniford OBE, Roman Kemp, Chris and Rosie Ramsey, as well as comedians Tommy Tiernan, Adam Buxton, and Phil Wang.
Celebrity Bake Off is part of C4’s Stand Up To Cancer campaign for Cancer Research UK which is set to hit the airwaves this Spring. Prue previously addressed her future on the cooking show in an interview with . She told the publication: “I won’t leave in a hurry, but I will leave some time because I’m getting ancient.”
It comes after she appeared on a special edition of Loose Women titled This Is 70+, which featured panellists over the age of 70 as they discussed the struggles of ageing.
Speaking on the show, Prue admitted: “Age stinks, come on, it takes me 10 minutes to get myself out of bed in the morning. If I don’t do my exercises, I can’t move.
“There are all sorts of things that are wrong with old age, you’re very conscious that it is nearly the end. You then decide that you’re going to make the most of it and have fun.”
